If I fall asleep outside, after dark, will I awake with a critter cuddling me?

I’ve slept outside under all kinds of climatic and weather conditions, sometimes even sober, and have never had anything sharing my space when I woke up. Closest to your location was over 30 years ago, in the Orlando area (Kissimme or however it’s spelled, specifically). Other than the bugs, it’s a rather rare occurrence, and I don’t think you have to worry. Drink heavily first, and get the mosquitoes schnocked!

My best example of this was the time I felt something run across my head in our tent. I woke up and shone the flashight around. There was a Deermouse sitting on my son’s butt! I caught her and took her home, as I had a little zoo at the time. She became hand tame and earned $115.00 in model fees for her pics in a book, calander and magazine!

Was that an especially good looking mouse? The reason that I ask is because I have a mouse around here somewhere. It wakes me up sometimes when I am napping on the couch and tries to sneak into the trash which makes a lot of noise. I was just going to put a glue trap out if I ever get around to it but I would be happy to make a few bucks off of it if there is a market for that type of thing. It is a fairly attractive mouse with perky ears and sleek fur and skinny but not malnourished. I have a good digital camera and can sew a little if costumes would help. I will do that or sell it into slavery or prostitution for $100 if you can me some starter tips.

Be careful, those glue traps wreak havoc with their good looks.

Off topic..but..

Absolutely. I know of one who kept a blog for a while..but he’s closed it.

Exactly. Many of them spend time at the library. Some have phones..you know those guys some people give money to at intersections, and some people say they just want beer? Guess what..some of them don’t just want beer. Some pay for their phones.

Some homeless get disability, and spend some of it on their phones. Some have “sponsors” who will give them $50/month for service, but can’t afford to get them a place to stay.

Ooh, nasty! Was he able to have it surgically removed?

I slept outside for a couple years. Nothing ever crawled on me, but I did make sure to have a wide open area around me with no vegetation…snakes don’t like wide open spaces. My friend, however, did once wake up with a strange kitten snuggling her.

snerts. snorts. crackes up.

Do your homeless friends have cell phones? Or internet access?

My mouse ws a beauty but that’s fairly standard for deermice. They’re really pretty when yu get a good look at 'em.

Actually, her main selling point was that she was hand tamed and by then I was working at a private zoo that had the photographer attatched to it. The boss didn’t mind me making arrangements with them to use my own animals.

I do have to jump in here and say that I think glue traps should be outlawed. Snap traps are usually quickly fatal but a glue trap is slow torture .
