I saw this movie where this dude was cooking food in different ways (heated up by lamps, dishwashers, and his car). Where would i put the food in my car if i wanted to try this myself that would result in the food getting hot?
Wrapped in Al. foil, place it on top or near the exhaust manifold. If you are not sure where this item is, run the car and feel (very carefully) for the hottest part. It is in most cases, rusty. Wires can be used to hold the wrapped package to the manifold.
You arn’t doing Thanksgiving this way, are you?
No, i just thought it would be cool to try it. wires won’t get hot and mess up part of the car, right?
As long as you put the properly wrapped package on a sopt where it won’t interfere with the normal operation of the engine, it SHOULDN’T cause any problems. It doesn’t take very long to cook, IIRC.
keen, thanx all!
:smack:
or even a SPOT…
How many miles does it take to braise a fish fillet? Should you use your exhaust manifold or your valve cover for a pork tenderloin? Were Jaguars really designed with veal scallopini in mind?

I once saw something on TV about how hot the inside of cars can get in the summer and warning people not to leave kids and pets in the cars, even for a few minutes.
It wasn’t a long segment, so I don’t know how much editing was done, and it was a while ago, so my memory is a bit iffy, but the lady put cookie dough on the dash board at the beginning of the segement, and at the end of it, took it off - it was totally baked and looked like a really yummy cookie!
I remember her saying something along the lines of “You don’t put your child in the oven, why leave them in your car?” except that it was better worded than that.
Anyways, you could wait for a really hot day and bake cookies!
A number of children have died in Australia in this way in recent years, including one infamous case where a car-thief abandoned a car after he realised there was a child strapped in the backseat. It took a few hours to find the car and the child died in that time.
BTW the cooking-meat-on-the-manifold thing works but I can tell you from experience that the meat tastes like crap after being cooked this way. No matter how well you wrap it in tinfoil it still comes out tasting like oil and exhaust fumes.
