Two main factors against Roy’s bid were 1) Stefanik was far ahead of the curve and had already locked in support from the leadership and a lot of the membership before Roy even got started, and 2) Republicans want to keep having a woman in a leadership position.
Good points. Plus his complaint about Stefanik being not 100% hardline on legislative policies rang hollow when they were in fact removing one of the most solid policy conservatives in the whole delegation.
