If the left usurps the right & somehow wins...what will happen

Nothing in the tone of your post suggests it was in jest. It was a challenge. And you are failing to follow through on it. Very weak.

You’re a joke artist.

Besides Nevada, you probably can’t even place wagers in most of the US.

Sure you can. You’ve never made a friendly wager before?

Anyone who still thinks the OP is for real at this point is encouraged to review and reevaluate.

It’s just kind of amusing to watch so much backpedaling and deflection. Like it was an Olympic sport.

Much as I hate the thought of Trump becoming president, an effective mass revolt of electors is likely to cause even more damage to the country by inciting even more public protests and unrest (on both sides) and by completely undermining the electoral system. And frankly I’ll be disappointed if any electors go against the voters’ wishes even if I do think many of those voters are dumbasses.

The alt-right is happy as pigs in shit about Trump.

There was and is still a possibility there is a real thread in here. It’s slim given the chaff. While this thread is still in Elections please refrain from personal insults. There have been several borderline examples thus far in the thread so this is a general notice to all to dial it back.

Too much herd mentality here & some are taking this “wager” thing way too seriously. Where’s Pete Rose when you need him lol

Thank you for regulating.

Personally, as someone on the other side of the political chasm from you, I’m delighted we can agree on this.

You can’t create a shadow government to undo an election by fiat either, but that hasn’t stopped you from posting about it. I bet you $100 that Trump will take office. If you’re not comfortable with that, I will bet you a bottle of liquor worth $100 or less of the winner’s choosing. In fact, I’ll give you 2-to-1 odds - if you win, you pay/provide drinks worth only $50.

Don’t matter how much liquor you win, it ain’t gonna be enough.

The only exception would be if there were demonstrable significant evidence of tampering with the election results (in whatever form) such that the true result was in doubt. At that point the electoral system is already in turmoil anyway, and I’d expect the electors to at least put things on hold.

We probably need a system in place for that circumstance (which I am not suggesting is currently the case), but god knows what it would be.

I’m not trying to make personal insults. But I think it’s a reasonable part of the debate to point out when somebody makes a statement and then backs down when called on it. A lack of personal credibility is always a factor in a debate.

Ditto. I’m definitely moderate left, and I am frankly, at the very least “heavily concerned” by a Trump presidency (to put it mildly), but I’m absolutely frightened about what would happen if the electors were to overturn the results. I think the idea is just crazy and would rip this country in half. (I know some people already think the country is torn in half, but I mean violently so.)
