As a male attention whore I thank you for this kind apology. Though I do have my own problems with the attention whore, since I never charge money for the attention I get. Maybe attention slut would be a better term.
I believe calling a woman a “slut” holds her to a double standard, based on her gender, does it not? =)

Except that, an apology has not been extended to you, Blackacre. I apologize to people whom I have interacted for years and know my behavior to generally be held to a certain level of decorum.
You on the other hand, they know to generally be of little character, and therefore there is no possibility of you letting them down by behaving like a silly [insert appropo non-sex/race/creed/culture/region-based insult].
