If Warner Bros cartoons were voiced by celebrities

Inspired by my own reply in the thread about the new gawd-awful Loonatics cartoon…

There have been a few Wile E. Coyote cartoons where he spoke to Bugs Bunny or the audience in explaining the different cuts of Road Runner. It dawned on me that Kelsey Grammer would be a great modern choice for the voice of him. Now I’m wondering, what other modern day actors/celebrities would make good voices for the Warner Bros. cartoons? Not necessarily because of the way the person acts in real life, but just judging on voice alone. They don’t have to sound like the Mel Blanc version but must capture the essence of the character.

(and dont’ anyone say Mel Blanc should be the only one to have ever done the voices, because he tried doing them till his death and you KNOW that the voices sucked the last 20 years)

Agreed on Kelsey Grammer as Wile E. Coyote (He is kinda Sideshow Bob-esque, isn’t he?). A James Bond type would work well, too… maybe Roger Moore?

Joe Pesci would make a great Daffy Duck. He has the right aggravated, angry, high-pitched voice. Besides, he’s played characters that fit the part; the “Duck season, rabbit season, rabbit season, duck season, BLAM” would have fit right in with the Home Alone movies.

For Porky Pig, I’d like to see Billy West, the voice actor who played Fry on Futurama and Stimpy on Ren and Stimpy. Granted, Porky’s a bit smarter than those characters, but it fits with their heart-is-in-the-right-place nature.

Mel Blanc.

What?

B-b-b-b-Billy d-d-d-did do the voice of P-p-p-p-Porky in the film Space Jam. (Ever since Mel died, the voices of the characters have been done by a number of p-p-peo-p-p-p-pe-p-folks.)

Well, Larry Storch did do the voice of Warner Brothers’ Kool Kat.

Peter Cushing as Yosemite Sam.

Really, according to Christopher Lee, he was dead-on!

Wasn’t Lyndon Johnson the voice of Yosemite Sam? I heard that on Rock Bottom just the other night, after a story about some crazy guy lusting over a woman’s sweet can.
