If you already fucking know everything, then why did you fucking ask?

So does being tune-deaf excuse one from breaking up their paragraphs? I mean really. The return key is your friend.
(grumble grumble)

Jeez. I’ve been pitted.

If I knew, then I wouldn’t have asked, and I wouldn’t have take so much time writing all the things I did. I spent a lot of time restating things and reasking, because I want to understand. A lot of the answers folks gave me were along the lines of “listen to it and you’ll understand.” If that were the case, it would have happened long ago - my wife listens to classical music quite a bit and I’ve listened to many of the things she likes. Her take on the situation has always been that some people have music in their blood and some don’t - and since I (in her eyes) don’t have it there’s not much point in trying to explain it.
I used pop music analogies and references because that’s what I’ve got to work with - I understand them to some extent, whereas I don’t understand classical music much at all.
I wasn’t ignoring you, fessie. Take a look at the things I posted, and realize that there were quite a few people I was trying to communicate with simultaneously. I just couldn’t reference everyone into what I was writing.
A good many of those posts were done during time stolen from work, and some of them are quite short for that reason. Hence the flip answer of “I don’t dig jazz, either.” That was a short answer to the relatively simple question that Zoe posed at the end of her post. A better answer would have gone into her suggestion about watching Fantasia with the kids - but I happened to have a couple of minutes and did a simple answer.
I’m not keeping my kids away from classical music - I just don’t put any on when I’m home. The wife and kids can listen to whatever they want.
The exchange you reference that culminated in this thread seems to have taken place, at least in part, while I was going home from work.

Sorry to have aroused your ire, fessie. I was not pulling your chain, nor was I trying to push an agenda. I wanted to know how (or if) classical music can be relevant in general because I couldn’t see it that way. The only pig-headedness involved on my part was a thick skulled push to understand .

BTW:
The incident with AC/DC is real. Jackie really di “Shake me all night long.”

LOL. A valid question and one that I could ask too many people a call.

LOL. OK, let me try again. A valid question and one I could ask too many people that I know.
