If you could be talented in one area, what would it be?

Physical fitness. More specifically, strength relative to body weight.

Magic or guitar.

I wish I could draw decently. Even though I’m a computer programmer, it would come in very handy sometimes.

Could it be something that helps a career, without making a career?

I’d lovet o be better at languages. I can learn them when I need to, but I’m eternally envious of people who have the gift for it.

Remaining calm.

Probably managing money and investing. It blows my mind that people who make as much as I do have huge savings–but they do.

Playing guitar or writing really well. Either one would make me extremely happy.

Damn I was going to say, “making money”.

I’ll say painting. I can draw decently though I do need more practice but I can’t paint for nothing. Although the only training I have is me just dipping a brush in paint and going crazy. If I took some actual classes and got real instructions from a real painter I might actually be decent at it.

I got my first guitar at 14. It was a cheap Japanese acoustic knock-off, third-hand model. I blamed the guitar for why I sucked. I got rid of that guitar, but got a new, nicer acoustic at 18. I just suck, I have absolutely no rhythm, zero. My hand-eye coordination ain’t the best either. No amount of practice is gonna make me a good guitar player, but if I could magically get good, this would be my choice.

Comprehension. I’d love to be one of those people who can read something once, or listen to a lecture and immediately understand. If I had to pick a particular subject, I’d say math. I have no interest in being a math teacher or a mathematician. I just really hate having to read everything over and over and over in order for it to click.

making an instant connection with people. I am very lucky to have some very deep, long term friendships, but, damn, it takes a long time for them to reach that level. If I’d known I was going to need to invest so much time I would’ve tried to be a bit more social 15 years ago.

Like many others in this thread my first inclination was to go with music, but on second thought cooking would probably make a bigger difference in my life. I’m capable of following a recipe and everything, but I definitely do not have a gift for cooking and also really dislike doing it. I like eating good food though, and I figure that if I had even a modest talent for cooking then I’d probably enjoy it more.
