There’s a joke about how being self-employed is great because you get to work only half days, AND you get to pick which 12 hours you work every day. THat’s not too far off the mark in my case.

You owe me a keyboard…and a nose…that diet pepsi hurt coming out.
I’m self-employed, and here’s how my days are adding up.
11am - 2 pm
break for lunch.
3pm to 5pm
nap & dinner.
8pm - 10pm
watch some tv.
11pm - 3 or 4am
But each day is unique. Most days I have work to do, even the weekends. Some days I might not work at all. The beauty is the flexible timeline and being at home (as long as I’m not crunching for a deadline). Beats a steady, forced 8 hour workday anytime. If I need to run to the store, or pick up the kids, or go the the doctors, or even have a friend over and catch a movie… I can usually swing it easily and guilt free!
I don’t get any hassle if I come in at 9:15 or 9:30;
An 8-hour day (plus one hour for lunch) is expected
Honestly, I’d probably work 10 to 7 if others weren’t in earlier. I’m just not a morning person. But some of my colleagues work 6-3, and probably 90% of them are in by 8. So I get in at 9, as much as I hate it.
