If I could take my sweetie with me, Morocco, Algiers, maybe southern Italy or somewhere in the Greek Isles, Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodos… So many places…
If the need to make a living weren’t an issue, I’d hie myself to Trinidad or Grenada or some similarly paradisical Caribbean island. I lived in Hawaii for 2.5 years and liked it, except that it’s too far away from the places I care about. The Caribbean has everything Hawaii has, plus a long European-African-American history and proximity to the places and people I’d most often want to visit.
If a suitable vehicle and technology weren’t an issue, I’d move to Mars without a thought. I’d roof over a small canyon and put a working biosphere inside, then spend the rest of my life terraforming and bounding about in the .38 gravity.
CommonSenseMan…
I had a family member visit Scotland a few years back. She said it was absolutely breathtaking. She also remarked that the castles were pretty impressive and that she would love to go back.
I would pick up and move two blocks away. There is a beautiful white house around the corner from me–I walk my dog by there all the time and stare at it. I hope they don’t think I’m a stalker.
I love central Jersey. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
The Italian countryside, just like the movie “Stealing Beauty.” A big rambling home that I can restore with my hubby (this is a fantasy, right?) like in “Under the Tuscan Sun” by Francis - shit, I forgot her name. I wanna loll around naked all day by the marble pool in my yard, have a four-hour siesta, and then eat dinner at 8 in the twilight. sigh I could even write in my spare time. That would be the life!
