If you could only have one food...

Spaghetti. If I’m allowed to include the sauce.

But if it has to be one single ingredient then I go with cheese.

Yeah!I’m a piscovegetarian, but if can only pick one thing, then deer/Bison/Grassfed cows are a good thing.

They have healthy fats, and lots of protein, and if fresh, even some carbs in the muscles. There’s a ton of vitamins in the organs too.

Now one for you fruitarian/Vegan folk out there.
Avacardos are almost perfect if a bit low on protein, but if you are an inactive fully grown adult, you might just be able to survive on them indefinately. I’d go as far to say, that they make the fruitarian diet actually viable.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m currently suffering some weird inexplicable affliction where it keeps getting stuck in my throat, I’d choose chicken. It’s probably not the healthiest thing of all that’s out there, but it can be cooked in a variety of ways, and I love it.

I have a very narrow diet as it is, so it wouldn’t be much of a hardship anyway.

How long could I survive on human milk? Given the extreme medical circumstances I expect the NHS would be able to get me as much of it as i needed if it was the only thing that I was not allergic to.

I’ve often said if I can find a way to live healthy on bagels, veggie bacon, ice ream and coffee, I’d be a happy camper.

I guess bagels and coffee would be my choices.

Well, potato. It has a decent amount of vitamins and minerals to avoid most deficiency diseases. At least with salt it won’t be as bland. Thankfully I happen to like the skins =)

We’ve had threads where the question was along the lines of “You can choose exactly one food to eat for the rest of your life. It will magically meet all your nutritional needs. What food do you choose?”

The OP here asks, if you were restricted to eating just one food:

We seem to have stumbled into the question of those other threads, rather than the OP’s question.

For the OP, I’m guessing either eggs or a dairy product like milk or cheese would come closest to meeting one’s full nutritional needs.

I’d go with eggs, myself.

A good suggestion. It’s the one food evolved to meet all the nutritional needs of young humans. Would it work for adults though?

The guy in Never Cry Wolf lived on whole mice, but I don’t know for how long.

How about blood? Beef blood,if you must.
