If you don't like oriental-flavored ramen noodles, does that make you racist?

Apparently we’re doing this now. I know this is a sensitive topic, but let’s please keep it civil. This is only a poll, let’s try to keep this from landing in the Pit, okay?

I knew this guy one time and I asked him if he’d like some Ramen noodles. He kind of wrinkled up his nose and said, “What… flavor…?” And I said, “Oriental!” And then he said “Ugh, NO!”

And I’m all like :dubious:

Very RACIST!!!

Obviously anyone who does not like oriental flavored ramen noodles have not eaten enough of them to know that they should like them. If only they would only eat enough of them they would find that not all oriental flavored ramen noodles taste alike and eventually they would find an oriental flavor ramen noodle they do like.
They are probably the same shallow people who refuse to eat foods of color, subsisting on only mashed potatoes, cauliflower, mushrooms, pork and vanilla ice cream.

I could never be friends with someone who doesn’t like oriental flavored ramen noodles. They totally disgust me.

I only like chicken flavored ramen. The other flavors are all fine flavors but don’t do anything for my mouth.

I understand that Hitler hated kosher noodles.

I’ve never tasted an Oriental.

The ones I’ve tasted didn’t taste like ramen.

(Why doesn’t FireFox know that word? What kind of people are these programmers?)

( Obviously not Oriental !! More Occidental than accidental. )

WTH is “oriental-flavored”?

We had top ramen for dinner several years ago, so we can’t be racist.

I mostly just like the cup-o-noodles type of ramen. I have no idea what that says about me.

Well, what DOESNT it say ??!!??

Some of my best friends like oriental-flavored ramen noodles.

Ingredients for Top Ramen Oriental Flavor:

from here: http://www.meijer.com/s/nissin-top-ramen-ramen-noodle-soup-oriental-flavor-1-package-3-oz/_/R-118597

BTW - apparently it’s one of Top Ramen’s 2 vegetarian flavors, the other being Chili flavor.

Hope that helps.

Ahh… Soy sauce + MSG = Oriental Flavor. Of course.

ETA: I realize that the list of ingredients on all flavors of Ramen noodles are probably mostly the same.

Oh good, a chance to sneer at you amateurs.

The MGS here is so much more authentic.

Metallurgical Grade Silicon?

My favorite in this category are the bowl noodles, with those awful little cardboardy pink-edged things in them, where the label is about 50% in Chinese… with a big red splash reading PICANTE!

Welcome to 2013, here’s your anti-headspin device.

Oriental was always my favorite flavor as a child growing up. Our boat I work on now refuses to stock that flavor for some reason. Maybe I should accuse them of racism

It’s fine to have your individual preferences, but when someone says it’s “not really food” it certainly comes across to me as ignorant.

You are only racist if you are not sexually attracted to ramen noodles.
