My vote goes to that majour douchebag called Darren Star.
Grosse Pointe is stupid television.
**Stephen J. Cannell **
The guy behind a dozen weak detective shows like The Rockford Files, which promise a mystery and only deliver a car chase.

Anyone involved with foisting yet more lame Star Trek shows. Contrary to the bumper sticker popular in my youth, Star Trek does not live–it’s a tube-fed basket case desperately in need of a “Kevorkian.”
For that matter, anyone who takes yet another banal piece of crap that Gene Roddenberry hacked out in 1977 and rewrites 98% of it in order to give Majel Barret an excuse for living also deserves to die.
Agree that Stephen J. Cannell has unleashed more turkeys than a dozen bad producers, but must respectfully disagrre with my fellow posters who lump The Rockford Files in that category. Well, the first few seasons anyway; they were often rich with character, especially between Garner and Beery. Never saw any of the “reunion” movies, so I wouldn’t know there. Reunions are normally pretty hackneyed stuff though.
Sir
Well…duh! Aaron Spelling!
Dammit, Blue-Sky-I Was gonna say that!
Well, then Steven Boccho. Dougie Houser-icky!
And Cop Rock? WTF? What was the deal with that-singing cops? Ooookay!
(I only saw one episode-the chief was singing something like, “And pleeease be careful out theeerreeee…” I changed the channel-FAST)
I was also going to say Aaron Spelling…with the crap he produces, he deserves to die.
Oh, and tshirts, I LIKE 21 Jump Street, heh. [But only because of the Johnny Depp factor]
And I like The A-Team.
No brainer - Aaron Spelling. If he had never done anything more horrific than “The Love Boat” and giving his daughter a job, he would deserve it.
Also (risking the heated invective to come) I am beginning to think Chris Carter is working his way toward it. The last couple seasons of X-Files, that awful virtual-reality show I can’t remember but only ran about 3 episodes, and all but the first season of Millineum were just crap. He’s starting to look like a one trick pony a la Roddenberry. He had one good idea that was realized by a team of people much more talented than himself and that’s all he had in him.
…it was Harsh Realm. Watching a cat yak up might be preferable.
Too bad about X-Flies, though. I’ve read that Darren McGavin in the old Night Stalker series (upon which XF is based - Carter was a big fan) practically begged them to cancel it when it ran out of ideas.
Smart guy. Good actor.
Lorne Michaels, who has done more to shittify the entertainment landscape than anyone else since 1980.
Ok, I know this is a light hearted thread, and I’m not whipping out some left-wing-pinko-commie argumement here, but death for people who happen to have bed taste and questionable talent but who also have pull among the money guys in Hollywood?!?
Get off your high horses and produce something of quality yourselves, if you got all the bright ideas.
And by the way, the only people we have to blame for the tripe listed in this thread is the American public. We watch this shit and then ask for more.
All that said and done - whoever is responsible for giving Jerry Springer public form should be tortured.
[sub]Notice I’m still not advocating death[/sub]
