Planetes is an Anime the descriptions and reviews of which are intriguing me.
But I can’t find it on NetFlix, so if I’m going to see it, I’m going to have to buy it.
Before I decide whether or not to do so, please fill in the blank for me in the following:
If you like ______, you’ll probably like Planetes.
(For the record, I know myself to like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell SAC, Paranoia Agent, and to some extent FLCL.)

Wow. Um, it’s, um, unlike what you might think of as stereotypical anything. Er, it’s the sort of thing which wouldn’t even be done on American TV, 'cos Yanks would insist on doing it live-action, & then try to punch up the “drama.” It’s near-future hard science fiction with a lot of human beings doing things that don’t absolutely have to be science fiction, like (warning: not necessarily actual plots) tourists losing their kid on a space station, or some trust fund brat picking on the low-level workers.
I guess I’d compare it to the short-lived American TV show LAX. I liked ΠΛΑΝΗΤΕΣ, but then I liked LAX.
