I thought it was rather obvious, actually. But I do see your point.
I did this one after midnight vs in the morning which is often a mistake as my sleepy brain can fail me but this time I got it.

Was anyone else bothered by “Things that are known to be colorful things”? It struck me as just sloppy writing-- It’d be cleaner if you removed the last word.
Or they could have removed everything except the last two words.
You really want a category that is:
Things that are known to be?
No, they wanted a category of
colorful things
Which would be removing everything except the last two words.
It’s Saturday (hurrah!) and this was a tricky one. After the first error, I spent some time trying to figure all of them out before choosing, and it wasn’t until I worked out Purple that it worked much easier.

Saw the beginnings of a red herring but it did not temp me.

I saw a few potential red herrings, but none of them went past 2 words.
Got it in rainbow order, but all but yellow were pretty tough for me.
For Sunday’s puzzle there was a red herring that tempted me, but I figured out an alternative that steered me away. Purple I was never going to get.
