I didn’t get purple, either. I got green immediately, and yellow with a little thought. Then the four blues were next to each other, and the connection seemed obvious, and then… I clicked the purples to learn the answer.

Maybe I could have pulled off the reverse rainbow if I’d tried. Or maybe yellow needed to be out of my way before I saw purple. Either way, pretty quick solve today.

I got a clean rainbow on Tuesday, but I was completely off about what Purple was. I figured it was something about movies, like maybe released in some particular year or something, but I wasn’t pop-culture-savvy enough to say what the binding trait was.

In retrospect, the real category was more obvious.

It’s Christmas Eve! And this one was tricky in places. I saw the red herring but managed to sidestep it. However the Yellow category is completely weird, I have never heard of most of them used that way, I assumed they were the contents and accoutrements of a burger.

Got purple once I sorted the red herring. Yellow was leftovers so I assumed was blue, so that messed up my RR.
