Fell for the red herring but the PURPLE was in the same vein, just with Americanisms.
BLUE was pants, though.
Pretty straightforward but I would have never gotten the Purple as I have never heard of one of the references.

One advantage of trying to get RRs instead of entering guesses as you find them is that it’s easier to avoid red herrings. I fell for the red herring at first, then was able to abandon it before submitting.
Yup that was the one.
I’ve rarely seen it in the US, but it’s common in Canada. Maybe the rare Canadianism group?
Friday, and I thought I was going to fail again, but then one by one (and some hopeful guesses) I managed to make my way out of the mire.

Yep, I walked smack-dab into that one too.
Then I got down to business and churned it out in rainbow order.
I guess I’ve heard of an Aero candy bar, but I’ve definitely never had one. When I was a kid we had Choco’Lite, which was pretty much the same thing.
Also, when I think of a “Dove Bar,” I think ice cream, not candy. So purple was dooomed to be leftovers today anyway.

Blue and green were easy. Had to guess on one for yellow. Didn’t get purple although I was pretty sure which words went together.

Also, I bet a lot of people are going to struggle with BLUE…which was ridiculously easy to me.

NON BLONDES gave away blue instantly. I thought that would be purple. Then I thought green might be purple. The real purple was dumb, but I did figure it out when they were the only four left.
It’s Saturday. This was an easy one.

Yup. I randomly saw purple first. Or maybe it wasn’t random. Both “cardinal” and " direction" were on the table, together giving a strong clue for purple. Actually, i saw yellow first, but could only find two things that i know to be canonically red. I tend to see heart emojis that are purple or orange – probably just a quirk of the people i chat with. And when it was down to 8 possibilities, i guessed that the pool balls have canonical colors, and that might be one of the reds. I don’t think I’m familiar with any of the blues.
