I saw, “things associated with luck”, and rejected it because it seemed too weird to add a bad luck symbol to the good luck symbols. So i guessed things with an animal in the word, and that was wrong. Which prompted me to try “luck” again.

Purples were leftover.

I should have scored a purple-first on this one. I was specifically looking at the first and last words of the two-word clues, and even put METAL and ROCK together. Then I got distracted by suddenly realizing the yellow answer, and decided to get it out of the way.

Other than that, no real issues here. For me, this was right in the sweet spot of difficulty; it challenged me and made me think, but not so hard as to be frustrating.

Friday at last. As a non-American, the Monopoly words were not intuitive. I’m not sure where Luxury fits in at all.

I noticed the same thing on Wednesday, and thought that category might be talismans. But yeah, a nazar can itself be regarded as a representation of the evil eye, which symbolically wards off the thing it resembles.

Purples were leftovers. I really suck at categories that use only half of the word.
