Purple was scary leftovers. Messed up yellow vs. green as usual.

I tend to have trouble finding a groove when presented with nothing but short one-word clues. So I stared for a good couple minutes before green revealed itself.
Blue followed quickly, and I sidestepped the last little bit of trickery easily enough.
Had fun with this one.
Blue purple for me today…
I dislike the games where there are five clues that can potentially belong to the same category. You can use up all your wrong guesses trying to find out which one doesn’t belong. So I wasn’t a huge fan of today’s puzzle, but did solve it.
Wednesday. I did not figure out Purple, as once again, America.

Still Tuesday. Blue was total leftovers for me, and I don’t see how row fits in purple.
Row: /roʊ/ 1) n. a number of items in a line 2) v. to propel a boat using oars
Row: /raʊ/ n. a quarrel
Yes, as above, a row (rhymes with now) is a particularly British term for an argument.
Hm, I’m familiar with that meaning, but I’ve always heard it pronounced the same as the other two.
That’s the advantage of always trying for reverse rainbows - you need to sort all the categories before submitting any. That usually eliminates ambiguities and red herrings, but it takes a little longer.
Sure, you may solve the whole puzzle in your head before actually clicking and submitting, but you’re still finding one category at a time. The problem when there are five possible answers is that that category can’t be solved on its own. You have to move on to other categories that are solvable, until one of the five possible answers gets eliminated.
I actually much prefer the puzzle when some categories are overpopulated, and you have to put more effort into figuring out multiple categories to disambiguate things.
If it was always straightforward there wouldn’t be any challenge. You have to throw in curve balls to engage your brain and keep you on your toes.

It took me forever to see green and didn’t get purple at all.

No issues. PURPLE was a bit naff but I got there.
Bit of a mess here. Couldn’t quite cleave off purple as scary leftovers. And couldn’t get color order.

The problem I had is I had only seen row used as a fight in print and assumed it was pronounced the same as stuff in a line.

Purple was a typical purple, got lucky with the order of the rest for a reverse rainbow.
Sure, change things up and keep it creative and interesting; but of the curve balls they can throw, I’m not especially fond of this one.
