I am not good at that category.

All I knew was that they were bands and I was sure that Outkast, Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode were bands so I was looking for a fourth instead of looking for purple.

That’s the same for me. I didn’t know what the fourth band was, so I was trying things that could plausibly be one (which, to be honest, could be almost anything).

Thankfully, before I ran out of guesses, I had the sense to say “If these four are almost one category, then the other four must also be almost one category. What could that be?”, and got it.
