If you lipo out fat cells from your belly & rear it will be stored in your knees!

Interesting article.I had no idea this is what would happen if your liposuctioned out all your belly and rear end hip fat, makes sense though as the fat has to go someplace. Kind of a horrific mental picture re "pot bellied knees’.

I can’t see somebody actually gaining 20 pounds of fat on each knee. Obviously you regain fat if you continue to over eat. Only a small percentage of people are so simple as to not understand they will get fat again. A small percentage of the population can still be a million people though.

That explains Torgo.

Really? :dubious: Your body doesn’t just create new fat cells?

Dammit, they told me it’d wind up in the boobs!

That’s not 20 pounds of fat per knee.

My lab studies adipocytes. It’s much easier for your body to store lipids in pre-existing fat cells then it is to promote adipogenesis. Generally, new fat cells are recruited as everything else starts fill up. So, yes, you will eventually regain weight around the surgery site, but you will also turn all those nice small fat cells in other places into gigundo-fatty-fat-cells.
