If you live near a section of Interstate that violates the basic rule that the x0 roads go E-W and the x5 roads go N-S, let us know. I have always felt that I-24 is more of a N-S route than an E-W one, (and thus should be an odd numbered road), but it’s a coin flip as to which is closer to the truth.

I used to live near Port Huron, whose Interstates are exactly the opposite of this. I-94 goes more or less north-south and I-69 goes almost exactly east-west.

I grew up in DFW, but closer to I-30 than I-35 (still close though). My closest is I-35 while at school in Oklahoma.

Yep, I live right off of I-40. 840’s just down the road. I-24 and I-65 are only about 25-30 minutes away!

I can almost see I-40 from my home. I’m about twenty minutes from I-65 and I-24 and about five minutes from TN840 (aka National Guard Parkway, but the name hasn’t come into common usage yet).

US 23 and Dixie Hwy are a couple hours away, funny about the dixie hwy I used to live a few miles from it down in Broward.

I live close to I-495 that intersects with I-95 within 20 minutes. That will take you straight down the East Coast all the way to Florida in two or three days depending on how eager you are to get there. I also live close to the Massachusetts Turnpike which is also I-90. That one makes me a little nervous because it means that I could put the cruise controlon, fall asleep, and wake up in Seattle 2500 miles later.

It would appear that your location is special because, according to Extremes In Length

The last time we traveled east to the coast it was I-40 to Raleigh and then US-64 to Nags Head. Until just now when I was looking at the NC map I didn’t realize that I-40 goes basically due south from Raleigh to Wilmington (okay, it’s more like SSE, but still).

I live by a section of I-10 that’s N-S (west side of San Antonio), but the road itself is an east-west road.

I live a few miles from I-40 , I am also near I-540, I-440, and I-85.

Can’t remember where but I have been on a road where the signs said I was going both north and south at the same time. It was 2 North and South roads that met up and were traveling East and West on the stretch I was on.
