If you're not wearing a mask at the grocery store by now, you're a fucking idiot.

I always look forward to seeing your posts, monstro. I’m sending my best thoughts your way.

I’m only in an at-risk group due to age, but I get seriously bugged at people who don’t think they need to wear a mask. You’re not doing it for you, fool.

Sorry to hear your news monstro and best of luck with your treatments.

And yeah, I hate wearing masks. I hate the discomfort, the heat, the foggy breath coating sunglasses, how the primary variety I use keep slipping up to my eyes and I’m not supposed to touch my face to adjust them.

But I wear them in stores anyway. I wear them picking up takeout, I wear them walking down the hall to take out my trash and recyclables, I wear them going down the elevator to the mailbox or my car and I wear them at work when more than just me is present.

I…don’t always wear one in my nearby regional park, because they fog the viewfinder of my camera and photographing birds is the main reason I’m ever there these days. But I carry one, stay well away from other people( it’s a wide open space and I’m in at 7 a.m. and out no later than 10 )and will put it on if it looks like folks are going to get close.

If nothing else it’s just basic courtesy.

I’m sorry to hear your news, monstro, and you’re right. There are a lot of self-centered, entitled idiots out there. Sad to say, at least two of my cousins are in that group.

My very best wishes to you for your treatment and recovery.

((((( monstro )))))

(Socially-distanced hug)

Fuck cancer.

Fuck anti-mask MAGATs, too.

I fully endorse this beautiful rant, and I am so sorry to hear about the cancer diagnosis, monstro.

Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis, monstro. I’d just like you to know I always enjoy your posts plus totally agree about masks. I don’t understand…people, I guess. I’m a member of the club too, having had a rare type of breast tumor.

Thanks, but he’s impervious to thought. He can’t get a haircut right now because the Governor won’t let him. That’s as deep as he goes.
Best wishes with your diagnosis!

Uh, yeah. What you quoted wasn’t my thought. More importantly, it keeps the shit off of the other guy. That’s the name of the game.

Sorry about the diagnosis, monstro. Rats. It’s a shock to hear the c-word. I’m in that club, too. But it might turn out to be mostly a nothingberder. I hope so. I passed the 5-year mark in March of this year. There’s a GINORMOUS message board community at breastcancer.org, with a forum for every iteration. The threads can go on forever (the mods aren’t as [del]mean[/del] firm as the ones here  ), so just dive in or start a new one. But the crowd is very knowledgeable if you can patiently wade through all the info. When you start your treatment, I’d be interested in hearing how it’s going, if you feel like sharing.

Too much happening already to have to worry about this! :frowning: {{{HUGS}}}

Ah, fuck, mostro! You can treat it and beat it. I’m hoping all goes well for your treatments.

And people have ragged at me for wearing one. Well, I’ve got diabetes and hypertension, 49 YO. So I’m not going in a fucking hospital for a virus either. I swear wearing the mask isn’t that big a deal, but keeping your fist away from assholes’ faces during social distancing is REALLY hard sometimes.

Best wishes, kind thoughts and good luck Monstro.

Well, we mature folks are entitled to carry canes, aren’t we? They can be a fashion accessory, amirite?

I’m sorry to hear it, monstro, and I’m glad they’ve caught it early.

My wife got a similar diagnosis about 8 years ago. They did a lumpectomy, she had a course of radiation (no chemo, luckily for her), and then five years on anti-cancer drugs, and she’s completely fine.

I hope that your treatment is just as successful. It does seem, these days, that early diagnosis and treatment gives you an excellent chance of a good outcome.

Shit monstro, that sucks. hugs I’m glad to hear they got it early, and that your prognosis is good.

And fuck these selfish bastards with a rusty chainsaw. I don’t see how it’s any different than “no shoes, no shirt, no service”, but I’ve seen people comparing it to Jews wearing yellow stars. Jesus fucking Christ.

Good luck to you.

Well…shit. Shit!

But…HELL YEAH, you got this. You got this. And you’ve got us behind you. Much love.

Scratch N.E Indiana off your list of places to visit in the short term. Mask usage is minimal in my observation. Memorial Day weekend was a flashback to pre-Covid-19 days around here.

Best of luck to you, monstro.

People, in public, have said something to you about wearing a mask?

I hope you take this with the humor it was intended:

When they said you could make a mask from the cup from an unneeded bra, they didn’t mean for you to take it this far.

But seriously, I hope everything goes well. That’s great to hear they think your outcome will be excellent. If anyone can kick cancer’s ass, it’s you.

Stores won’t let unmasked people in here in Jersey. Mask use in places where people gather is near-universal.

I know what you mean. I had thyroid cancer last year, and a remarkable number of people, upon hearing that, pointed to the scar on their neck and said, “hey, me too!”

Well, shit, **monstro. **I’m very sorry. I’m more than 5 years out from breast cancer surgery and second the recommendation to check out breastcancer.org. Can you have a friend pick stuff up for you rather than going out yourself?
