Ignorance, War, Lies, and Fox News

“… If she ever did listen to NPR, she would probably consider it to be a communist plot. Oh, well, so it goes.” ~ LouisB

OH no LouisB, tell your right-thinking sister that NPR is not a communist plot. The communist have nothing left to plot. They are defunct. Their world was too drab and colorless and their philosophy was doom. No one conquered them they just collapsed from the sheer weight of all that colorless gloom.

**On the other hand the free market of the world’s democracies are colorful places of hope. You know, sorta like–> $$$ Disneyland$$$.

I hope no one gets an epileptic attack after that rainbow display !

Um…has anyone actually provided any evidence that people who watch FOX are less intelligent or less informed are are you people just assuming that anyone who kicked your ass in high school and doesn’t watch NPR must be less intelligent than you?

wooo:eek: I have one!

  1. Fox News is on a train traveling 100 mph
  2. NPR is on a train traveling 50 mph in the opposite direction

How long does it take for NPR to suck?

“Great” defense ?

msmith, (is it M. Smith, or is it Ms. Mith? This isn’t intended as a dig, I’ve been genuinely curious since the first time I’ve seen you’re name.) I don’t think anybody here is claiming this is iron-clad evidence of Fox’s audience being more stupid, misinformed, or completely-fucking-shilled-to-the-RNC. Obviously, if we can’t even come up with concrete scientific data proving as empirical fact that blue looks the same to you as it does to me, we’re never going to adequately prove the causes of ignorance with statistics.

But even with all that taken for granted, don’t you think this survey is a bit telling? I mean, allegiances not withstanding, how blatant must a poll be to garner your consideration? Do we need God to emblazon a Fox Ignorance Percentage on the sky in sixty-foot-tall letters, complete with margin-of-error?

M. Smith is a guy. He is in no way associated with the manufacturer of frozen creme pies.

It really isn’t so much a question of general ignorance, of the kind associated with congenital issues, i.e., stupidity. It is more a matter of specific, almost selective, ignorance.

All three of the propositions are false. Perhaps there is another explanation than the obvious for a direct correspondance between a stated belief in a falsehood and the news outlet most likely to espouse such a falsehood. You got one? I don’t.

This is not to suggest that the McMedia outlets such as CBS are somehow worthy of commendation for a D-plus in ignorance abatement programs. For “liberal” media they have danced a mighty timid two-step, tip-toeing nimbly around hazardous facts.

And all the way down there at the bottom - the wholesome, organic and sublimely dull NPR., the central progaganda vehicle for the Birkenstock/Unitarian Conspiracy. They survive on the sweetly optimistic principle that people will pay not to be bullshitted. Bless thier pointy heads. Gotta love it.

But people cannot derive ignorance from Fox News, hence, Fox is not “resonsible” for thier belief in horseshit. But its hard to believe that Fox has done anything to counter it. So the people arrive at Fox in a pre-existing condition of ignorance, and they do precious little about it. Its like going to a doctor with the clap and he shoots you in the butt with tap water.

How about a contest between FOX and** PBS**? Next week, as does every week, a hot story with a high chance of an either distinctive liberal or a distinctive conservative interpertation will be presented on the two media outlets. I will attempt to get selected transcripts of their respective coverages of the event.

Of course the event will be effeminized on** PBS** and masculinized on FOX but that is not the point. The point is…to what lengths of semantical manipulation will each attempt in order to promote the party line?

If this works, I’ll post their reports here → X ← next week and we can all compare.

Mmm, this is gonna be like a movie that I have already seen. -

Rashamon?

A Fistfull of Dollars?

The Sorrow and the Pity?

Uh…elucidator. Is there any wildly imaginable, out-of-control, strange reason, for your obtuse posts?
