It is the fucking ignorant rural American folk who fell for the fear mongering of George Bush that has made the rest of the world hang their head in shame.
And the Australians voted in his deputy.
Bring on the war on ignorance.

I’m a rural American – I live 1/4 mile from a country crossroads in an exurban area with a total population about 110.
I’m not ignorant.
And I emphatically don’t rule – or the election would have gone quite differently than it did.
Maybe we should change the name of the message board to StereotypesRUs?
Yay for democracy! Go democracy, where the soundbite always wins!
Makes me agree with Plato.
If anyone else wants to take vague jabs at anything related to the election:
By all means, please start a new thread. There’s certainly no current discussion where your opinion would fit, and plus, I just can’t get enough of them!
They’re like Pringles!
Well, if we allow your postulate that “fucking ignorant rural American folk” are responsible for the re-election of Mr. Bush, I should point out that this means that the majority of the American population consists of fucking ignorant rural folk.
The more likely reason is that Mr. Bush appealed to a growing number of increasingly … hardocore … Christians whose presence is more strong in The South & Mid West. These folks are more likely to believe that issues such as self-reliance, traditional Godly behavior and jiha…I mean, preservation of a free America are more important than civil liberties (special rights for homosexuals, women and other deviants), tax-funded social programs for the needy (Lazy, unproductive, etc.), and environmental conservation (needless reliance upon fer’ners for resurces).
It’s just a pendulum swing–we had 8 years of feel good liberty & justice for all, now we’ll have 8 years of increasingly right-wing fascism. Come 2008 expect to see a left-leaning president with his feet loosely planted to the far right, and watch that trend dance to the left for 16 years. Then we’ll all be bitching about how the country is losing its moral focus (which, for some of us, is not necessarily a bad thing) and we’ll react accordingly.
What really saddens me about this particular situation is that the results of this election suggest to me that our nation is split dang near in half between frothing fundamentalists and bleeding heart liberals with few straddling the fence. We’ll not see true unity for a long time now.
Sorry if what I term to be a sequel wooded setting constitutes ignorant rural America.
Yes, I have no cable TV, public sewer, water, or natural gas. I like it like that.
I also have most of my teeth, no hounds under my front porch, no cars on blocks, and cannot play the banjo.
My kitty friends still like me, even if I’m a few days late for the Saturday bath.
No shit. Oh, and the bloggier, the better. “I’m so sad.” “I’m so confused.” Like that.
C’mon, Inigo. Be reasonable. Why, everybody knows them big-city folk are the ones with all the book learnin’. Anybody with an ounce of brains lives in the Concrete Jungle, not out where you can breathe the air and see the trees and listen to the birds and maybe swing a cat.
And for our Aussie commentator…fuck off, jailbird!
And yet, here you are.
Oh, I misread the thread title as: Ignorant, rural Americans RULE!!!
Taking a shit in an outhouse != building a new one.
Besides, who doesn’t like Pringles?
Hell, fellers: Let’s fergit all this here message board shit and go tip some cows.
How much are you supposed to tip cows? Is 15% too much?
John Carter:
Inter-net? Inter-net? And here I thought thissere wierd lookin’ TV on my kitchen table (next to the engine and transmission from muh pickup truck) was messages from God and sonny Jesus.
Praise be, hallelujah! Let’s get drunk on corn squeezin’s and fuck our sisters, then go out and shoot some of them minor-, minorit-, some of them funny lookin’ Ay-Rab folks.
You know, the ones with names like Juan Ramirez.
Oh, goodie. For awhile there I thought Americans were supposed to hang their heads, but I see the rest of the world will do it for us.
All in all a swell OP, except now I can’t get “Dueling Banjos” out of my head.

Hey now, that’s actually a damned good song.
Ugh. :smack:
It took a hell of lot more than rural folk to vote Bush back in…
If you think 20.8% rural Americans rule, then I can’t help quell your ignorance any further. Please stick to what you know.
Generalizations generally suck…AGAIN.
No, Silensus.
That’s a fucked up, electronic version of the guitar/banjo ripoff of the original classic.

For what it’s worth, Senator Kerry carried rural Fayette County, Iowa, by 58 votes. Us ignorant shit kickers did our part.
