My friendly advice is that you learn from the best (that’s me) and when your position is untenable, just concede the point—but then quickly and smoothly pivot and tack to an argument where you are in a stronger position, or at least not so desperately behind the eight ball

…except you usually skip the “concede the point” bit and go straight to the “smoothly pivot and tack to a different argument” part.
