We do? How?
So does my hypothesis of alien lizard people. You see, the one found out the others’ secret, so they ate him and regurgitated a new lizard person in his place.
Like a glove!
And your hypothesis is worth nothing. Like I said, meh.
I saw that show! “Three’s a Crowd” right?
You yourself were willing to speculate that Obama was a closet atheist. Which is a reasonable belief to have, given the facts.
You sure want her to be guilty of something, don’t you?
What subset is left when you eliminate Islamic, religious, criminal and fraudulent? A non-religious law-abiding truth-teller. I sure as hell wouldn’t mind that being my Representative.
ONly because people are going for the dumbest possible explanation rather than actually thinking. People want so bad for it to be serious illegality, and of course people like you want so bad to just believe she’s hiding nothing, even though she’s gone to a lot of effort to build a total wall of silence and remove social media posts.
Apparently, some very smart people on SDMB have not noticed that when politicians won’t answer questions, there’s almost always a very good reason.
You seem overly concerned by this. Perhaps you should consider that she, and her family, have simply learned the lesson of Birtherism alluded to above: There’s no point in addressing these claims, even with factual information backed up by evidence, because that will have literally no impact on the people who believe and/or promote these theories. In fact, any answers they do give will simply be subjected to further bullshit analysis, thus doing nothing more than providing fuel for the fire.
The only way to win is not to play.
Sure, that sucks for people who actually appreciate the value of facts and evidence, but this is the world we live in, where a straight-up conspiracy theorist has enough real-world support that he ended up being elected president.
I don’t remember this… do you have a cite? If so, that was a guess, with no actual evidence. Your speculation is similarly a guess, with no actual evidence.
You don’t know that, you lying piece of shit.
Do we know that she is hiding something and resorted to illegal actions to cover it up? :dubious:
She’s 100% hiding stuff, she’s gone to a LOT of trouble. It’s one thing to just not answer questions. It’s another to make your family clam up and delete old social media.
As for illegal actions, the whole rationale for the Star Tribune to look into the story was false tax records and improper use of campaign funds to correct them. Along with the lies that the paper reported that she didn’t know about any of it, blaming her staff, and an old staffmember pushing back hard, saying she approved everything.
Except she’s losing. Fact check sites have all pointed out the unanswered questions and the great effort to cover something up. Birtherism was nothing. His US birth was proven and his opponents just kept moving the goalposts. By contrast, this is an issue she could clear up very easily and the Star Tribune has asked very reasonable for easily available documents, which she has(she whipped her phone out to show a reporter), but won’t provide. Obama actually had to find his long form birth certificate by accident, he wasn’t trying to avoid releasing it.
Obama hid the evidence of his Kenya birth the same way.
Did you ever consider the possibility that the media have dropped the story because there’s nothing there?
Oh, they found plenty, that’s why the story’s kind of long and the fact checks all go into great detail. Basically 10-20 paragraphs detailing how the information would be easily obtainable if people would talk, but no one wants to talk. Now YOU may be uncurious about why that is, but the rest of us are free to speculate if she won’t talk. And you have the right to whine about it.
That story does show how thoroughly they looked, only to find there’s nothing there.
You can speculate all you like about why she isn’t willing to dignify this nonsense with a reply, but the rest of us already understand how the politics of personal destruction works. The only question is why you’re such a willing pawn in it.
Like a birth certificate?
Fuck that shit. The Birthers have poisoned the well on this stuff. No. Just no.
No “easy to provide” private documents to disprove nonsense. You claim something? YOU provide the evidence.
This sounds like the kind of “hiding stuff” that almost every human I’ve ever met has done. I’ve deleted social media posts. Am I “hiding stuff”?
Giving conspiracy theories air feeds them. Even when there’s a good explanation or good answer. There’s no putting this stuff to rest when it comes to the internet. Her best play, whatever is in her past, is to ignore it, barring actual evidence of wrongdoing (beyond the tax thing which she already admitted and apologized for).
She lived with both men. There was communication between the other husband and her when she said there wasn’t. She improperly filed her tax returns. She improperly used campaign funds to correct them.
That’s the evidence that we know. The rest can’t be found out because people refuse to talk and evidence was deleted. So if you want to believe that’s all innocent, you’re free to do so. Not sure many will take you seriously outside the bubble of this board though.
Without explaining it except with another lie: “it was my staff’s fault”. So the Star Tribune found a staffer willing to talk and she said Omar was very much in charge of that stuff.
If you delete social media posts because the media has become interested in something and is looking at your social media, oh yeah, you’re doing it to hide something.
