Its 12:20 am on a Sunday night and there are (at last count) 140 members and guest using the SDMB.

And its PAINFUL!!! So slow that I’ve stopped waiting for the post confirmation page.

I can only imagine that its a question of hardware, or the lack thereof.

So is there a fund that I can contribute to so that we can get bigger and faster servers? I would never want SDMB to go to a subscription, but I’d be willing to bet that you could find some folks willing to lend a hand to make it better for for everyone else.

I know I would!

Bear in mind that we seem to have some specific (and, one hopes, fixable and hence temporary) problem going on, as detailed in this thread, which is presumably unrelated to the usual “The board’s gotten too big for the server” issues.
