illegitimacy

Having not voted for Bush or Gore, can someone tell me why Bush is consdiered not to have won the presidency?
Was the Supreme Court wrong in not allowing any more votes?
Were they legitimate votes?
Are they going to count them now?

Well, the position of those who hold that Bush is not legitimately the Prez is that More votes were cast for Al Gore. They believe that Bush is headed for the oval office only because of the failure to count disputed votes, a shady effort by Florida troopers to keep blacks from voting, the stupidly designed butterfly ballots in Palm Beach County, or any combination of the above.

As for the quality of the Supremes’ decision, DSYoung has posted an excellent thread in GD about the merits and faults of the decision.

Is there a link? I can’t seem to find it…

rjung: Here is DSYoungEsq’s Humbly Submitted: They All Blew It (An analysis for initiation of reasoned debate) As you might imagine from the thread title, he is somewhat critical of the decision and the various dissents.
