So apparently this guy pressured his son, who’s in the Army, into marrying his (the father’s) girlfriend, so that she could get the son’s military benefits?

This came up in the news again because the guy’s wife is being indicted.
My question is in the wording of the articles I’m seeing like this one.
They keep referring to it as a staged suicide. Isn’t that incorrect? Wasn’t it an actual suicide and a “staged murder”?
Wouldn’t a staged suicide be something like an occurrence where someone was murdered and then the murderer set it us to look like the person had actually killed themselves?

The saga yet continues…The Village of Fox Lake has paid a $1 million settlement to his widow, who also participated in the financial misdeeds. This story says it’s a pension settlement, but I really think it’s go-away money.
