I'm 55 and just saw the best impressionist I've ever seen

It’s Jaime Foxx. Which in turn makes me think he may be the most talented person around today. Acting, singing, impressions, stand-up, piano player.

Anyway, I was watching Jerry Seinfelds Comedians in Card Getting Coffee…with Jaime Foxx…he just would effortlessly pull impressions out. Effortlessly. And they would be spot on. He did Robert Downey jr! Effortlessly and brilliantly.

A couple of other actors who surprised me:

Kevin Spacey once graced Inside The Actors Studio with some amazingly good impressions.

Rick Moranis, before *Ghostbusters *typecast him forever, was also a gifted impressionist.

I think Jay Pharoah has Jamie Foxx beat, but both are excellent.

Bill Hader is pretty freaking talented when it comes to impressions.

Well. I came in here thinking we were going to talk about some painter even better then Monet. So I guess I’ll just back out of the room and shut the door quietly before anyone notices I was here!

I hear Degas did a great Monet at parties.

I thought of Jay when Jaime was talking about inviting Denzel to a party. And was actually thinking there was no way he could beat Jay’s Denzel…then he blew it out of the water.

::cough up phlegm and gag Niel Hamburger cough up phlegm and gag::

Have you seen the impression of Jennifer Hudson he did with Jimmy Fallon? One of the funniest things I’ve seen in decades, thanks to someone who posted it here a ways back.

Does anyone do ‘Hollywood Party’ any more?

[For you youngsters, this was a mainstay of stage impressionists and comedians, along the lines of 'Hi we’re at the Hollywood party, and look over there, its Jimmy Cagney … ‘You dirty rat, you dirty rat’ and so on through the galaxy of stars. About as entertaining as finding blood in your urine].
