I'm a Democrat, and I'm voting for Trump in the primary. So should you.

Well it’s not going to happen and it’s very annoying.

I should hope we’ve put religious prejudice behind us.

And do you hope “Drumpf” to have the same devastating effect on Trump’s election as “shrub” did to Bush’s?

Eta: the Oliver bit was hilarious but you are going to beat the funny out of it.

His approval dropped pretty low, didn’t it? But no, it’s more like a way of declaring one’s dissent and condemnation publicly and consistently. Not a fan of Oliver? I’d have thought he’d be popular 'round these parts.

Good luck storming the castle.

You could do that with words rather than an insulting nickname which makes you look as childish as The Donald.

And stupid. Read right wing sites and see their constant refrain of “Hildabeast” and “0bummer.” You won’t be swayed by it; you’ll just think they look like dillweeds.

I am unmoved. :stuck_out_tongue:

(You do realize that thanks to this Chrome browser extension, it appears that everyone here, and the writers/editors of news sites and so on, also spell it this way. So I would have to actually remind myself to switch it at this point.)

You could just remove the text conversion extension. Let’s all go down to the quarry and throw stuff in there.

I am not at all sure what the quarry has to do with it. I guess that is some sort of meme? Anyway, I have no plans to remove the extension.

I’m amused that you want to start a movement of using this name, so you have made it so that you can’t tell if others are using it.

I suppose that’s one way to convince yourself you’re winning.

Oh, I’m not the one who started this! John Oliver did, and he has a pretty solid track record of ginning up large numbers of people to go after people like Seth Blatter and the FCC.

A dissenting view: Hillary vs. Trump should scare Democrats: Why this isn’t the cake walk you’re probably hoping it will be.

Ok you stand by your childish principles. I guess if it bugs me too much I can just put in my own text replace extension.

Indeed. Battle of the extensions!

“Let’s all go down to the quarry and throw stuff in there” is a Snowboarder Bo thing. No, I never understood it either.

That was Trump’s actual last name before an ancestor of his changed it. Drumpf thinks John Stewart should not have changed his last name. So turnaround is fair play. If Drumpf wants to be called by some other name, he can apologize to John Stewart and clarify matters. Then I will drop this moniker and refer to the short fingered vulgarian as Trumpty Dumpty.

Or to put it simply/stupidly: “It’s his name!!!1!”
Yeah, it will get old. I say use it intensively now, and sparingly in maybe a couple of weeks.

A little more deeply, when somebody breaks social conventions the first and second favored response is to stare blankly. But after a certain point, it can be best to throw their shit back at them. So calling W a Shrub should have a short shelf life. But when you report on one of the Donald’s latest insults, it might be appropriate to sneak a Drumpf reference in. I do think that such behavior should be modulated though, in a few weeks.

For now, I am merely recommending that Drumpf embrace his heritage. Make Donald Drumpf Again!

In other words, it isn’t his actual last name and this isn’t really turnabout.

Sure, if you are in a winner take all state then the difference between voting for Bernie over Hillary is theoretical, might as well fuck with the Republicans. Trump has this about as sewn up as Hillary does. I don’t see how the Republicans need any help imploding, they are doing a much better job of it than we could have dreamed.

Virginia is a proportional state and the more Bernie delegates at the convention, the more his ideas are represented in the party platform.

Because he is the most liberal Republican still in the race.

He is nativist and populist and thinks we have bad free trade deals. If you can ignore the sound bite comments (frequently taken out of context) about illegal alien rapists and keeping all the muslims out of the country (both of which he has explained in greater detail in ways that are still repugnant but just run of the mill Republican repugnant).

There is also a non-zero chance that he is punking the Republican party.
