While we’re at it, it was pointed out to me (here I think), that Chubby Checker is a pun on Fats Domino.
BTW, I don’t believe that this is something Matthew Weiner made up for the show; I think advertising agency employees have been using the phrase “Mad Men” for a while.
At the start of the opening episode they explain the term, I just didn’t get the Madison connotation until today. :smack:
