Uh, hi everyone.
I was all excited to drop a line and tell y’all I was back from Nepal, but it seems that since I left nearly everyone I knew on this board has vanished. Jeez, you go away for a few months and the whole world changes! Well, at least Satan is still here (Hi Brian! Yes, I brought a husband back with me).
In light of the situation, I guess it’s more appropriate to say “Nice to meet everyone”. It looks like there are a lot of fine new additions to the board and I look forward to getting to know you all.
I seems you had a grand time, be-bopping around the top of the world, lookin’ down on creation. And the only explaination we can find is the Love that you that you found…
and brought home.
Welcome aboard, Plucky! (Lucky’s SO as I’ve now dubbed 'im.)
Welcome back, Lucky.
Thanks for the “welcome backs”, guys. Great to know some of the old timers are still around.
Unclebeer, the html is working fine—thanks again.
ChiefScott, I’ll be sure to tell Plucky about his new name. I’m sure he’ll be signing on and joining in as soon as either his English gets better or a big enough group of Nepali speakers joins the board (not bloody likely!). I did not get to see the Dali Lama–he’s in India now, as far as I know. But I did get to go on a really cool elephant safari through the jungle. I picked up some sort of wierd jungle scange, but it seems to have cleared up now.
John, Nepal was beautiful. The Himalayas are, of course, astounding. I also got to see a lot of interesting wildlife, most notably a wild rhino and her baby (what’s the term for that?), which we spotted while on our elephant jungle safari. In another part of the country, we saw a whole heard of wild elephants. One was a very large bull which is believed to be the largest in Asia. Very cool.
And all of my charity work went really well. All around a great trip.
But of course, the best part was being able to bring my finace home. We’ve been trying to get his visa for 17 months. The embassy finally approved it just 2 days before I was scheduled to leave. Talk about cutting it close. I swear my greatest wish for all my fellow humans is that they never have to deal with Immigration and Naturalization Services and/or a US Embassy in a Third World country. What a nightmare. But, he’s here now and we will be going to the court in about an hour to get married. Yeah! Thanks, Tater, for the congrats.
Anyway, it’s great to be back. I really missed you guys!
