I'm breaking up with my car.

My ex’s car was an automatic, and I drove it a fair amount: I found that I stopped going for phantom shifters/pedals quickly enough, but I never got used to the damn thing not shifting soon enough. First through third is what drives me crazy in automatics.

You know that the V6 coupe is a $30K car, right? I had $2K in negative equity. The actual payment is something like $570, but it would have been over $600 if I hadn’t qualified for the 0.9% APR. Not really very mind-boggling…

Misnomer, you were right to act fast. Due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, car manufacturers there are running out of parts and have had to shut down a couple of plants. The supply shortage may affect US carmakers for a short while too.

Yeah I considered it (formerly owned a 2003 Accord EX-L 4-door – the last car I bought – and liked it) myself. I guess it’s just been a really long time since I’ve bought a new car and it was just shocking to me. I think the highest car payment we’ve had was probably about 320/mo, so it just seemed inordinately high. I didn’t mean to offend if I did.

I was just reading about that over the weekend: I’m glad that I acted when I did, too, because six months from now new cars will cost more and my old car might have been worth even less. I guess, in a way, Mazda/my old car did me a favor…

Oh no, not at all! I was just boggled by your being boggled.

(Why, yes, “boggled” is a fun word to type…why do you ask?)
