I’m not sure about the Dallas area, but I once looked up the cost of living difference between DC & Houston. IIRC, Houston is about $5k less per annum.
I will be getting the condo documents tonight and have 3 days to look 'em over.
The mortgage broker should have all the documents he needs. I am looking forward to close on 10/10.
BTW: The only problem I have with the rules is that if we decide to get a second car, we’d have a difficult time parking it there. Everyone gets two parking permits, the second one is primarily for guests who stay past 9pm. If we put it on a second car instead, we’d have to move that car every five days. Also, the pool hours are kind of odd, it’s only open 7 hours a day, assuming they are confusing Noon with 12am.
I took an hour off work and signed the papers this morning! I got $200 from the seller to take care of some minor repairs. Spent the long weekend packing, still have a few things that need to be boxed. Since I didn’t use all the money my sister sent to help with the down payment & closing costs, I can use the rest to rent a truck and hire people on Friday to move the large furniture & heavy boxes. I expect to be completely out of my apartment Saturday afternoon, which is good because the apartment building is going to be exterminated that day and someone from the management company will be along to accept my keys.
Anyone want to help me move?
