He could always turn ‘states evidence’. It worked for Henry Hill:
He’ll end up being a “schnuk” in a bland Midwest city, but then, that’s exactly where he came from.

For Pence, they should give him a new identity and move him to Detroit or something.
Pray the orange away?
I kind of regard Pence’s position as being equivalent to being a member of the Mafia. When you’ve knowingly joined a criminal enterprise and enthusiastically promoted it, I’m not going to be too distressed when other gang members want to rub you out for disloyalty. (This said, I don’t endorse or condone Pence being threatened in this way,)
Pence has certainly covered up for Trump on numerous occasions from his non-apology for various misogynistic statements to his attempt to manipulate the president of Ukraine for political gains.
When you lay down with dogs don’t complain when you get fleas. Especially the kind of dogs that follow Trump.

Mea culpa.
Once I figured out what CFSG stood for, I liked it so much that – in writing or in speaking – I refer to him in No Other Way.
Which is poor forum form, I’ll admit.
And now there’s a Beetlejuice element at play [1], where naming the thing might just resurrect it. We can’t know – not for sure.
I’d love to leave the CFSG behind, but – to the extent that he is still A Thing around here … I’ll still use CFSG as a reference.
But I’ll define it in my first use within a post … if’n I can remember. Because it’s a fair knock.

According to legend, if you say the name Beetlejuice three times fast, the magical trickster himself will appear before you.
Oh, don’t misunderstand me, I know Mike Pence is an asshole.
Let us join hands and pray that leopards don’t eat his face.
As someone who had to put up with Pence for years here in Indiana, his vileness did not start with being Trump’s VP.
I would feel bad about Pence being assassinated because I’m opposed to assassination in general, not out of any respect or affection for Pence. So yes, I’d be OK with extended Secret Service protection for him and his family because successful political assassination would be a bad thing for the country
He played with fire. You do that, you risk getting burned.
Detroit has enough problems, they don’t need more.
Send him to, oh, I don’t know - Mitch McConnell’s house?
I’m concerned for Mike Pence’s safety after leaving office
I offer Pence thoughts and prayers. And not much else.
On the list of things I care about, Republicans killing each other is way down the list, it’s on the same level as gas leaks at the KKK headquarters.
…I mean, consider the likes of Ilhan Omar who had the President of the United States lead an angry mob to chant “send her home.” Sure. Pence is a target. But I don’t think we need to be more concerned for him than any of the other people that the President has put the crosshairs on. The people calling for Pence to be hanged are the same people that made AOC fear for her life during the storming of the Capitol. There is a much bigger issue at play here. The rationale behind making Pence, AOC or Omar targets is not based in reality. Which makes them more dangerous IMHO, and less predictable.
There aren’t enough Secret Service people to even assign one to each of the people in this country that Trump has incited violence against. Join the crowd, Mike!
Very well said.
Politically motivated violence is a bad thing. Inciting it is a worse thing
Be a shame, a real shame, if somebody got hurt by a group that’s been nurturing, and been nurtured in, political violence for, I don’t know, 40 years now?
Worship the gun and the mob; die by the gun and the mob. Tough shit. They’ve all earned it.
Poor Pence. Maligned by the Left AND the Right now. No place to call home. I won’t shed a tear for his predicament. My best hopes for him are to be out of the spotlight or awaiting trial for whatever laws he may have broken.
However, I think everyone here needs to take a deep breath and push back from the keyboard for a few minutes. We should NOT be wishing for harm or death on ANYONE. We are supposed to be better than that around here.
I fully understand hating on Pence for what he’s done, not done, and for what he believes and stands for, but we should not be wishing death or harm to him. On anyone. And I am surprised by the blood lust being shown here, TBH.
My sentiments exactly.
I would add that if he lives in terror because he’s AFRAID of being assassinated, I won’t mind.
The racist, lunatic, idiot morons who were threatening Pence have REALLY short attention spans. They won’t want to hang him for long once they realize that the new VP is… racial. Pence, who???
And this has the benefit of being exactly the kind of “heal the nation” cross-party cooperation that the US sorely needs, and it costs Biden very little, so if there is a credible threat to Pence six months out, it’s a lock that Biden will approve this.
He’ll approve it for no other reason that he’s a normal, decent human being. We’re just coming out of an abusive relationship, so that’s hard to imagine at the moment.
