Well, I got another RPG writing gig. There’s a catch, though. This time it’s not for an established company. This guy is starting stuff on his own. He has a product that I hope will do well, and if nothing else is just more writing credit.

His business model involves putting any profits from this one into the next one, and if the next one takes off, then me and the other authors and artists get cash.

In the meantime, he says, we’re paid in meat. He’s taking us out to decent restaurants for business lunches. I have no beef with it (pun intended). Just seems like a fun thing to be able to say: I’m writing an RPG suplement, and I’m getting paid in meat!

For a minute there I thought you were talking about KoL (http://www.kingdomofloathing.com), where the currency is indeed virtual meat. I suppose real meat is better, though.

Meat is good.

I got paid in egg rolls once. And Chinese papercuttings.
