I'm getting rather suspicious of my new neighbours

They moved in a couple of months ago, and twice they’ve tried to sell me stuff. The first time it was second-hand stuff but this time the item was still in its box. The box was in mint condition - I didn’t look inside. Further, they were visited by the police a few weeks back. The last was explained as the police seeking a previous resident.

While I abide by the presumption of innocence, the situation really doesn’t feel right.

I Dunno… I think I would stand off until you’re sure of them. And not buy *anything * at all from them. I might be stolen. Maybe not, but why take a chance?

Don’t be silly, sweetie! No one is going to stick you in a box and try to sell you to Quartz! You’re safe here with us.

Do they come and go in the middle of the night?

I’d start making a list of things they offer for sale. On paper, what offered and the date. I’d also make notes of dates and times when (if you see it), they come home and unload a bunch of stuff from their vehicles.

Then when the day comes that the police ask you about them, pull out the list and give it to them.

I’d also upgrade my locks and check my home security.
