Somebody told me vintage Christmas decorations are popular. So, I went into the attic to find something to sell on Ebay. We have a few things from our childhood that we don’t use anymore because Christmas decor from the 60’s and 70’s was pretty damn ugly.
Then I found my Ho Ho. I stopped displaying him under the tree a few years ago when he started making weird noises and smelling funny, (like a lot of old guys).
Somebody gave him to me when I was 6, and he was displayed every Christmas for 30 years. Until we became concerned that he would burn the house down if we left him unattended. But I couldn’t bring myself to throw him away, so I stuffed him in a box and put him in the attic.
There must’ve been alot of kids who had their own Ho Ho, because he’s not worth much, except to me.
I thought it would be one of those plastic HoHo’s from Hostess.
I know how you feel, I have almost nothing thanks to being sick for years. Pick some items that mean the most to you and don’t sell them off.
This link has support forums for when you have to let off steam, how to make money on Ebay, legal issues for the ill, funny joke pages, and lot’s of ill people that will talk to you and joke about illness. They’re in the same boat as you and the site will not tolerate Trolls.
Hey! I have one of those too! My dad bought one for me and one for my sister in…ohh…1972 or so. I tried not putting ours out under the tree last year, but LilMiss likes him too much. So, he’ll be standing proud amidst the presents for his 33rd year.
