Next week I leave with my family on a ten-day cruise to Alaska. I have been anticipating the trip for nearly a year. I took the time off work and made all the necessary preparations to go.
But it seems like many other things decide to go wrong right before I’m supposed to be going on vacation. For instance, I lost my cell phone, and though I called and got it canceled and shouldn’t have to worry about any charges, I am worried some theif ran up the phone bill on my cell phone and that I might have to pay thousands of dollars. So I’ll have that on my mind during my vacation
Also, the other day I experienced a strange twinge of pain in my abdomen. At first I thought it was just indigestion, but it has come back several times. Now I’m not sure what it is, but just my luck its appedicitis or something  I’m hoping I’m just constipated and the pain is from impacted stool or something (haven’t had a bowel movement in a while) so I took some laxatives which will hopefully move things along, but if the twinges continue in the absence of some internal fecal traffic jam than I will need to call the doctor and grill him on any possible paranoid thing this may be (Gall stones?! appendicitis?! intestinal obstruction!! )
Suffice to say, I’m worried I’ll even be able to MAKE it to the cruise, much less enjoy it
You are stressing yourself over things that may not be a problem. Call your cell phone company and find out what your bill is. Your cell phone may have been lying in a ditch somewhere for the last week with only a frog to keep it company. If you find out you owe nothing, those stomach cramps might go away.
Incubus, if you think there’s even a remote chance that your pains are appendicitus, you should go see the doc ASAP. I had an emergency appendectomy last month, and it’s no joke.
