I'm going to Atlantic City tomorrow..advice needed

I’m going up to Atlantic City tomorrow morning with my partner. We’ve both been there before, but not together. We’ll be staying at Tropicana on Tuesday night and then heading back to Virginia late Wednesday afternoon. So far, the only thing we’ve got planned is a late night walk on the beach and visiting the various casinos.

I’d like to do something out of the ordinary during our stay there…something that will make the trip memorable. I’ve walked up and down the boardwalk many times before, and would like to know what neat things are beyond the boardwalk. Any neat shops or restaurants that we should check out? The only things I remember from past trips are the casinos (of course) and the abundance of “dollar” stores.

What comes to mind immediately is Lucy the Elephant , although she’s actually just outside of AC.

Are you into shows? A Tuesday night in February isn’t exactly prime time – but I bet an entertainer you have heard of is in town. There are usually some OK other shows, like magic, dance shows on as well.

Instead of alot of blah-blah I looked some up – I bet you will have fun no matter what! Top 2 are at the Trop. when you will be

There are a few bizarre Miss America things. There is a small mall on the Boardwalk with a Miss America Museum, and the street from around Caesar’s to the new convention center has stars with the names of Miss Americas on them. The lobby of the Sheraton has pictures, and there is a statue of Bert Parks singing outside, on the path from the Sheraton the the Convention Center.

When I was there a few years ago for a conference, the highlight of my day was a very good deli in the Trump, with excellent pastrami and whitefish salad.

Check out the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. It’s fun, and the Men’s room had a big button in it last time I was there. Press the button, it was cool.

Don’t give all your money to the mob.
