My parents changed their trip around, so they’ll be getting here on the 16th. So unfortunately I’m out.
As much as I’d love to take them to a baseball game, the kinds of conversations we had in front of MikeG’s wee ones would be verboten. And if I can’t talk about porno with jarbabyj, really, what’s the point of a Dopefest?
I will attend
I will wear pigtails
I will drink beer
I will yell veiled sexual innuendos at Kerry Wood
And I will talk about porn.
Magdalene will miss out.
jarbaby
I’ll be there.
No pigtails but I will be drinking beer and requesting Kerry Wood pitch pantless
MikeG, thanks for checking the tix and all. I’m real jazzed; a Cubbies game sounds super for Wednesday night (provided they aren’t charging those high “I’m-Peter-Angelos-I-can-charge-gobs-of-money-for-O’s-tickets” prices.
Also, according to their website, May 16th is[1958 MVP Ernie Banks Baseball Card Night (for the first 30,000 fans)]](http://cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/chc/schedule/chc_schedule_promotions.jsp?club_context=chc) and ticket prices range from $10 to $28.
My two available nights in Chicago are Wed. (16th) and Thurs. (17th) If Wed. is the game, can Thurs. be Cambridge house or other, low-key hangout type of night? I’d like to meet dopers and the Cubs game might be out of the price range/time window for some.
Of course, I’m not being picky, I’m thankful that y’uns are setting things up.
Or at least wear a pair of pants that fit for God’s sake! KERRY! Come on! This isn’t the Springfield Baggy Pants Players. Look at Kyle Farnsworth’s pants…it’s like he’s poured into them…get with the program.

OK, so far it’s:
MikeG
jarbabyj
hardygrrl
spritle
Mods, you can close this thread now:D
I am voting for bleacher seats- they will be cheaper and more fun. $10-$15 is about right-I will light a fire under my ticket guy and see what happens.

Count me in!
:(:(:(
I just found out I have the kids next week from Mon.-Thurs.
So, I will not be able to attend. Sorry, jarbabyj, I guess you will have to content yourself with Kerry, unattainable though he is…
Spritle, I will have to catch you some other time…bummer.
:: kicking stuff around :: dammit MIKE!
So what should we dopers do? Change our plans? Not attend the cubs game? I don’t have strings to pull like Mike does so I don’t know about getting tickets.
We can go to dinner? Go out for beers?
MIKE! You ruined everything :: running off sobbing dramatically ::
jarbaby
AAAARRRGggggggHHhhhhhhh!!!
Anne just emailed me- they changed the trip to next week so I will have the 16th open now…!
::scrambling to rearrange his own schedule::
It looks like my strings are getting cut anyway jar, I am trying another option…Details when I get them.
jarbabyj, guess what?
SuaSponte is coming to town sometime this summer. Just chew on THAT.
Chew on Sua? YOU GOT IT!
Well, it turns out I already have tickets to that game so you can mark one off the list. I totally forgot I bought them.
Well…could we all just sit on your lap? I’ll go on a juice fast before hand so I’m lighter.
jarbaby
As long as I get to be on top.
I just got back from the assistant treasure’s office with two checks!
One is for the hotel for three nights and the other is my per diem check for meals, cab fare, whatever. That’s right, gang, the first round of water is on me!
Is the ball game gonna happen? I’ve been working my voice…
Do they still play the blues in Chicago
When baseball comes to town?
When the snow melts away, do the Cubbies still play
in their ivy covered burial ground…
:D:D;)
Mike, you jerk. I saw your little list. I’m hurt. Did I not post that I’d be able to be there on the 16th? Hmmm? Well, fine! It’s not like I wanted to hang out with you anyway!
(kidding, of course… keep me updated on any future plans?)
I say, even if we CAN’T get tickets, we all meet on the 16th up in Wrigleyville for drinks and deep fried foods. This addiction y’all have to wicker park is maddening. I have to get HOME at night.
I can meet Spritle at the hotel (ho ho!) and we can go to my house first to freshen up.
I only suggest that because I work on Michigan, and would be closest.
