I had sat down in the church library after the service ended, when my purse began to vibrate. I’ve only had a cell phone for two days, so it took a moment for me to realize what it was, pull the phone out, and answer it. It was my boyfriend calling. I stepped outside and said hello…He then proceeded to tell me that he had something ‘important to tell me.’ He had discovered at breakfast this morning that his brother-in-law had secured two tickets for us to go to a concert at the Carolina Center. I take a deep breath.
Ladies and gentlemen, I- little old Searching for Truth- am going to go see the Eagles tonight.
Live. In concert. Their farewell tour. ME. The Eagles.
After I pulled my jaw off the floor, and after the various members of my family threaten to kill me for my ticket, it started to sink in. I am so excited. What the heck do I wear? What do I bring? I’m completely at a loss. Has anyone else ever seen them live? What did you think? Did you catch their farewell tour?
As far as I know, Eonwe, but I’m no Eagles expert or buff by any stretch of the imagination.
And yes, the show was very fun and very good. It’s amazing to see these older guys pogo-ing around the stage in unison with their guitars like a bunch of teenagers. I gained a whole new appreciation for their individual and group talents.
Yes, he is. The god of mediocre rock guitar and overblown self-image. Not entirely coincidentally, Don Henley is also a member of his pantheon.
“And lo! There was a great Cataclysm among those only sparingly talented, and it was known as “Artistic Differences,” and long did the air guitarists grieve, whilst everyone else kept their heads down and prayed they’d never have to listen to “Desperado” again.”
Oh. When I looked at this thread title, I thought-so what? You can see the Eagles in Phila any time you want during regular season unless it’s an away game. Different Eagles. Sorry.
