Is that you Wolfie?

Is that you Wolfie?

Thanks, GorillaMan! I’m filing this for my next trip to London.
In addition to the Giant Glass Dildo, City Hall is also oddly egg-shaped.
It was indeed the, er, dildo-ish building that I was wondering about, but I did see the city hall building as well, and thought it was also pretty cool. I have to say, the architecture here, in general, is just fascinating. And I love the alleys (even if I do stay away from them after dark).
Today on my lunch I went to the park at Finsbury Square. What a cool sight that was. On one side, you’ve got suits lying on the grass, on the other you’ve got suits playing something that looks remarkably like Bocce Ball (is it?)
OK, so anyone have easy directions on finding the Princess Louise?
Oh, and btw, there are whispers of extending my stay. The scope of what they want versus the remaining time I have left is, let’s say, a little out of balance. So I might just get to hang around a little bit longer. We’ll see.
Yes, I love the 30 St Mary Axe building! It won the 2003 best new skyscraper of the year award. I’ve always enjoyed seeing pictures of that building and I am looking forward to seeing it soon (sometime this year) in person.
I’ve been greatly enjoying this thread, please keep us updated on your travels TellMeI’mNotCrazy.
Here’s a link about 30 Mary Axe winning the award.
How’s this?
Meeting Location: The Princess Louise, High Holborn, London, WC1V 7BW
Description: The Princess Louise is a 19th century Victorian pub which still retains a great deal of its original interior, mainly because its location in what was one of the seedier parts of the West End ensured that it always remained at the bottom of the brewery’s redecoration list. It is now a Grade II listed Building, and its legendary men’s toilets actually have a seperate Grade II listed status! Its now owned by Sam Smiths, which means the beer is good as well as cheap.
Directions: Leave Holborn tube station by the exit directly opposite the escalators. Cross Kingsway (the road directly in front of you) and walk down High Holborn. You will pass a Sainsburys on your left, a Natwest bank and finally a HSBC bank. The Princess Louise will then be on your left and looks like this . A map of its location can be found here.
Meeting Time: 1500hrs London tome
Nicely, done, Garius.
BTw, I have to (in the interest of public awareness) inform all that the walls at Club Quarters Gracechurch are apparently paper-thin. And the brilliant people who designed the rooms seem to have thought that perhaps it was a good idea to have beds in adjoining rooms share the same wall.
Brilliant.
the neighbours been complaining about you?
You’ve caught me out
Whilst i remember, it can get a bit busy in there.
So just in case you aren’t sure which group of people we are, i’ll either be wearing or carrying a German Army Surplus Shirt and almost certainly be looking hungover.
Good thinking… Nothing says “Furriner” like a woman walking around a pub saying “Excuse me, but, are you a Doper?” So if you see someone fitting that description, flag me down
Couldn’t say for sure what I’ll be wearing, but I’m sure to be looking a little bit lost, and I have longish black curly hair.
Well how did you all get on?
It was great; I had a blast
Garius came through with the telltale Army shirt, and so I had no problem identifying them.
Really, what a cool bunch of people to hang with.
