When I last went to New York there was a thing called City Pass that offered discount admission to several major attractions (the Circle Line, the Empire State Building, MOMA, Museum of Natural History, and something I’m forgetting) and lets you skip to front of the line. Well worth it just for that. Best place to get it is at the Circle Line since it lacks the crowds of the others.
Oh man, that’s too bad. Maybe they shoulda had a sign… 
Actually, I did a bit more Googling. It seems the building partially collapsed during construction work. It was supposed to reopen in May, but looks like that didn’t happen. It is supposedly still going to reopen though.
I hope so. It’s an institution.
