My little sister is obsessed with Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer will be at TRL tomorrow and my sister has wrangled my boyfriend and me into taking her.
TRL (Total Request Live) is an MTV show hosted by Carson Daly that counts down the top ten requested music videos. It’s home base is in Times Square, New York.
This will be our first time going without parents. I’m really excited, but also scared shitless. Any suggestions, advice, warnings, etc. would be much appreciated.

Check out my suggestions and the advice from other Dopers. Trouble is, you guys sound on the youngish side (“not like there’s anything wrong with that”), so you might find some of the ideas a little dull. But trust me, there’s some gold in thar posts.
I’m 19, my boyfriend is 20, and my littls sis is 15.
Ok, so I should’ve been a bit more specific. The trip is very much a last minute deal. All involved are on a very tight budget (my boyfriend and I are your typical college students). We basically want to get there, go to TRL, and go back home. Lame, I know, but we want to be home before it gets dark. We are planning on doing as much sightseeing as possible, but with our time restraint, we can’t do much.
What I was looking for was more along the line of safety advice. How to avoid being robbed, that sorta thing. Also, what essentials I should bring with me. We are each bringing a school bag to carry whatever we bring and whatever we pick up along the way.
Well in Times Square around the TRL place there are usually plenty of cops to help with the crowd control. Bring some water to keep with you and in Times Square look fors the TS visitors center and the Virgin Record store. Wyh? Because these places have public restrooms. The one in the Virgin Store however is the nastiest restroom I have been to and only the fact that I don’t have to touch anything is what allows me to use it. (I am a guy BTW)
