Okay, so I’m going to pay for you (let’s say “just you”, nobody else I.E. kids, significant other, etc) to have…oohhh…a medium pizza from the chain of your choice.
Here are the rules.
It MUST be from a chain, it cannot be homemade. It can be from any chain you want, though, even one that is local.
You are only allowed to have ONE topping on it.
Whatever kind of sauce you like on a pizza (tomato sauce or marinara sauce or white sauce or barbecue sauce) and a normal amount of cheese do not count as toppings. You have these by default, they are on your pizza automatically and don’t count as your “one topping”.
Anything besides those two things counts, however…so if you also want "fresh tomatoes" as a topping, well, then that’s your one topping. You can also choose your one topping to be "extra cheese". But simple cheese and tomato/alfredo/marinara/BBQ sauce are thrown in for free.
You are NOT allowed to just keep/take the pizza as is, with the default sauce and regular cheese. I realize this may be perfectly fine–as is–already, to some…but you must choose another topping. Again, just saying “extra cheese” for those of you already happy with a cheese pizza, is allowed.
So…with those four rules being in place, what do you choose for your one topping?
One topping is easy.
It’s the stipulation that it must be a chain place that makes this Thread cruel and sadistic.
I actually tried the chain Pieology for the first time the other day. Meh, it was pretty good I supposed. So, I’ll go with:
Domino’s Brooklyn style is actually my go-to “If you absolutely have no other options besides the big national chains…” It’s remarkably not-terrible compared to anything else Domino’s, Pizza Hut, or Papa John’s has to offer.
I usually get meat lovers, which varies from chain to chain, but salami seems common enough. I’m okay with most chain pizzas, they tend to be better than the independents around here, to my limited tastes. My local is called Bubba’s.
Gluten-free from Dominoes.
Pepperoni.
. . .and double sauce if permitted. Even that barely has sauce on it, at least at my local chain. If not, I’ll go with the pink-stained crust with pepperoni.
