I would say the 5 films were…
1 Great
2 Rubbish
3 Very good
4 Rubbish
5 Decent
He went for a reverse Star Trek formula i.e. all the odd-numbered ones were the best.

I never figured out exactly what his plan was. He’s got the nanobots that can kill anybody he programs them to, and they’re going to be released at any moment, but who are those nanobots programmed to kill?
Orphans. Puppies. Kittens. The usual.
I don’t mind kids in danger, but I dislike killer nanobots. They’re usually too far along the “a wizard did it” scale for my taste.
As diabolical scheming goes, it is up there with hollowed-out volcanoes and invisible space stations, I must admit.
I can’t believe, after all my comments, I missed the thrilling conclusion to this thread.
I liked NTTD. Probably for me the second best Craig movie. I liked his sacrifice at the end. I think Bond was getting tired of the whole “game”.
But killer nanobots! Stupid. They’re stupid if it was the 24th century, they’re exceptionally stupid in 2021. Thingies too small to see can analyze DNA and make matches, and have a database memory, have an unlimited power supply, and can reproduce themselves, are undefeatable, and also kill? I’d rather have invisible cars. Even the pigeon did a double take at the plot.
I also laughed at the villain being THE one go-to source world wide for poisons. Like, how does that work? “I’d like to poison my wife, bu damn DHL is just taking too long! I should have ordererd locally!”
I wonder which path the next one will take regarding the next Bond.
The next Bond movie will take place in a separate universe to the Daniel Craig films.
Are you saying the Craig and Brosnan incarnations will meet an all-new Tom Holland one?
Ha, love that. Or maybe a pig (Hams Bond?), or a Nick Cage black and white version!
Didn’t we already do that in Casino Royale?
Didn’t we already do that in the other Casino Royale?
We’ll get famous directors to redo all the original movies, but with modern settings with modern special effects.
They can’t change a single word of dialog or a smidgen of the plot though. Casting, however, is wide open. So if they want a female Bond in Goldfinger, but keep Pussy Galore female, well, there you go!
In the book, Pussy Galore and her pilots were all out-of-the-closet lesbians until Bond cured her with his Magic Penis, so that would not even be much of a change!
Exactly! In my plan, the filmakers aren’t allowed to change dialog or plot, but what the dialog means is open to interpretation.
So instead of James Bond "curing " Pussy out of her lesbianism, where she falls in love with Bond and turns against Goldfinger, Jamie Bond simply is such a good lover that Pussy, while still staying a lesbian, falls in love with Bond and turns against Goldfinger.,
That would make the cringeworthy ‘man talk’ line near the start of the film interesting!
