We had birthdays recently, my grandmother and I, and as a result, I am now half her age. Obviously, this is not a stop-the-presses thing, but I bet there aren’t many people here who can say the same. In order for it to happen, two conditions have to be met: your grandparent has to be relatively young when you’re born, and has to live to a relatively advanced age.
So there you are: I’m mundanely, pointlessly special. I just had to share.
You realize that means you are the same age they were when YOU were born … right?
I was half my mum’s age at 37, dad didn’t make it to 80, so I never got to be half his age Despite 3 of my grandparents living into their 90s I had no chance to get to be half their age!
