I'm half my grandmother's age now

We had birthdays recently, my grandmother and I, and as a result, I am now half her age. Obviously, this is not a stop-the-presses thing, but I bet there aren’t many people here who can say the same. In order for it to happen, two conditions have to be met: your grandparent has to be relatively young when you’re born, and has to live to a relatively advanced age.

So there you are: I’m mundanely, pointlessly special. I just had to share.

When I was 14, I was twice my younger brother’s age and 1/3 the age of my mother.

I was fifty when I was half my grandmother’s age. She recently passed away, justi missing her 108th birthday.

I was half my dad’s age when I was 40.

I will be half my grandpa’s age when he is 132 and I am 66! Or, half my grandma’s age when I am 59 and she is 118. crosses fingers

You realize that means you are the same age they were when YOU were born … right?

I was half my mum’s age at 37, dad didn’t make it to 80, so I never got to be half his age :frowning: Despite 3 of my grandparents living into their 90s I had no chance to get to be half their age!
